ABOUT
JULIA

I am an Advanced Accredited Mediator, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP), and Family Lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in complex dispute resolution.

My career has spanned private practice, legal aid services, executive advisory roles, and university lecturing in dispute resolution. I’ve led the rollout of property mediation processes, trained lawyers and mediators in best-practice methods, and mediated thousands of matters involving children, property divisions, sensitive family dynamics, employment disputes, and commercial matters.

In addition to my mediation practice, I’ve taught mediation, negotiation, and dispute resolution at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and I hold a Master of Laws with a double major in Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

I’m committed to helping clients reach workable agreements that are cost effective, fair, and equitable.

FAQs

  • It depends on the clients. I generally schedule a 3-4 hour mediation, or longer if requested. I am happy to allocate ample space and time to thoroughly explore your settlement options.

    Shorter mediations can be requested, with follow up conferences, depending on the preferences and time restraints of the parties.

    I will work with you and your preferences and keep you fully informed throughout the process.

  • You are welcome to be legally supported by your lawyer, or attend without your lawyer. I will work with every client and agree to the best scenario for their circumstances.

  • The mediation is always confidential and any information shared during the process will not be shared externally. Confidentiality is paramount and spoken about at every stage to ensure the clients feel comfortable and safe in their communications.

  • There are many options you can explore and often another mediation, or interim agreement on how to progress your matter are favourable options. We always discuss your options in the mediation and formulate an agreeable action plan.
